If you’ve pre-ordered the Legacy, Legacy Pro, Digital Legacy, or Digital Deluxe versions of Infinite Warfare, you’ll receive digital access to Modern Warfare Remastered‘s single-player component. However, there is one way you can play the remastered game’s campaign without owning this year’s installment. Infinite Warfare is required for Modern Warfare Remastered to run, though it is advertised as a separate download. If you were planning to only install Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered, you’re going to be out of luck. Not only are future patches likely to increase this minimum requirement, but if Infinite Warfare follows in the footsteps of the majority of AAA games, there will be a day one update, as well. The back of the box states that 130GB is the minimum hard drive space required for the two games.
The requirement was spotted on Call of Duty enthusiast site Charlie Intel, which learned that French retailer Micromania has been handing out empty Infinite Warfare boxes to those who pre-ordered the game so that they could play the Modern Warfare Remastered campaign a month early. Players will need at least 130GB of storage on the PlayStation 4 for both the remastered Modern Warfare and the upcoming Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, which is required to play the remastered game. Remastered versions of video games don’t typically take up an unreasonable amount of storage space on consoles, but it appears that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered is a bit of an outlier.
